Last night’s episode of 90 Day Fiance makes me just want to throw the whole cast away and start fresh. Is there no one in a “normal” relationship? This show needs to be renamed The Lives of the Desperate and Delusional. Each episode tops the last, on the crazy scale.
Natalie panics when Mike gets cold feet. Yara wants to go home to Ukraine. Rebecca questions Zied‘s intentions. Tarik breaks Hazel‘s trust. Stephanie considers a future with Harris. Amira changes her mind. Let’s get straight to the recap!
Stephanie, 52 (Grand Rapids, MI), and Ryan, 27 (Belize)
While in Belize, Stephanie checks in with her office to make sure everything is running smoothly. Apparently, Ryan’s mother has been leaving messages at the office asking about her son’s whereabouts. But now that Stephanie has his cousin to comfort her, she wants nothing to do with Ryan or his family. Harris, clearly an opportunist, is doing everything in his power to seize the moment her money. I can’t lie; he is doing a great job of making her feel like he is the one for her, even saying he loves her. But, of course Stephanie HAS to talk to her psychic, before making any final decisions.
After spending the night on the couch, Stephanie has finally gotten Harris right where she wants him, in her bed. She even got him to agree to a reading with her psychic, Maria. Harris is sweating bullets when he is asked about his relationship with the mother of his children. He has been with her for 14 years, but now claims they are done. Despite this, Maria gives Harris her seal of approval. Sigh! All of these people are crazy. Stephanie is just basically paying people to tell her what she wants to hear. But if it works for them, whatever!
Mike, 35 (Sequim, WA), and Natalie, 35 (Ukraine)
Natalie calls her mother to inform her that she will not be able to attend her wedding due to the coronavirus. Although it isn’t ideal, her mother reassures her that everything will be okay. Mama Natalie have you not witnessed your daughter and Mike together, I am not so sure. The night before the wedding, Natalie and Mike enjoy a quiet dinner. Both are in good spirits, laughing and smiling throughout then night.
Natalie gets the shock of her life when the morning of the wedding, Mike tells her that he doesn’t want to go through with it. I think most viewers saw the writing on the wall some time ago, but she is genuinely surprised. He literally told her the night before he was excited and looking forward to tying the knot. Devastated has an emotional breakdown while trying to pack her clothes, before getting on a flight. To add insult to injury, she has to go to the airport and make numerous stops, before she can get home during the pandemic. Wow! Mike should have been honest with her, he never wanted to get married. Cancelling the wedding, the day of and having the neighbor drive her to the airport is just cruel.
Jovi, 29 (New Orleans, LA), and Yara, 25 (Ukraine)
Jovi returns home from his bachelor party to find a very annoyed Yara. They are literally flying to Vegas later that day and he hasn’t packed or done anything to prepare. Later that day, Jovi is still in the dog house even as they ride to the airport. Yara is sick of Jovi being inconsiderate of her feelings. She is now regretting changing her mind to invite his parents because Jovi took that as a green light to invite all of his friends. But he has no idea why she is so upset.
Rebecca, 49 (Woodstock, GA), and Zied, 27 (Tunisia)
Rebecca is feeling pressure to rush the wedding, by Zied. In accordance with his religious beliefs, he doesn’t want to live with her during the month of Ramadan if they are still unwed. After rushing into her last marriage, Rebecca wants to ensure she is making the right decision. Well, it’s a little late for that. Begrudgingly, she agrees to get married within the 12 days, before Ramadan begins. I find it a little weird that Zied never mentioned this stipulation, before he arrived.
Just when she thought nothing else could go wrong, Rebecca loses her engagement ring and her wedding dress doesn’t fit. Her daughter is also concerned that her mother is making the wrong decision marrying Zied, so quickly. Despite wanting to get married, Rebecca is starting to worry that all of these bad things happening could be a sign. There have been many signs throughout their relationship and they chose to ignore those, just like I’m sure they will ignore these things.
Andrew, 32 (Roseville, CA), and Amira, 28 (France)
Amira is terrified while in Serbia due to the riots and increased police presence. Not only does she have to be cooped up in the hotel for 2 weeks, most places are shut down due to Covid. She is also starting to believe that she made the wrong decision, after barely hearing from Andrew. Insert side eye. I wish she would have listened to her father and best friend. Andrew has never seemed like he was very supportive. If it’s not about him, he doesn’t care.
Andrew finally calls to check on Amira who is feeling lonely in Serbia. When the subject of kids comes up, she makes it clear she wants their relationship to be in a good place, before they have children. He seems completely confused that she would perceive anything he has done as negative. Andrew, please! As much as he has put this woman through, I am not surprised. I still don’t understand what she sees in him.
Tarik, 46 (Virginia Beach, VA), and Hazel, 28 (Philippines)
Hazel and Tariq meet with his best friend, Kia for dinner. Within minutes, it’s obvious that Hazel is extremely upset. Apparently, Tariq has been talking to another woman in the Philippines that he claims is only a friend. Sigh! Even Kia isn’t buying his bullshit and suggests that he blocks the woman who is making Hazel uncomfortable. But Tariq doesn’t see any reason why he should end his friendship. He even has the nerve to be upset that Hazel answered the phone to ask the woman, why she kept calling her fiancé.
After realizing that he has broken Hazel’s trust, Tariq breaks out that horrible powder blue suit and plans a romantic evening. Although Hazel was hurt she hopes this gesture will mean he will change his behavior in the future. He then re-proposes to her in an act of good faith. Although I give him an “A” for effort, something tells me, this won’t be the last time he talks to another woman. Clearly, Hazel’s desire for a girlfriend makes him feel comfortable to do these types of things.
TELL US- IS HARRIS A BETTER CHOICE FOR STEPHANIE? WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT MIKE CANCELING THE WEDDING? IS THERE A REASON WHY ZIED NEVER DISCLOSED THAT HE HAD TO GET MARRIED DURING A CERTAIN TIMEFRAME? WILL TARIQ STOP TALKING TO OTHER WOMEN?
