Going into the latest Real Housewives of Orange County, I assumed I would be supporting Braunwyn Windham-Burke 100% of the way. She was a very vocal supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement. She was very supportive of the LGBTQI+ community before ultimately coming out as a lesbian herself. And then she managed to be so frustrating, annoying, and hypocritical that it has been so hard to root for her.
After Braunwyn hit her husband Sean Burke, offered her drug dealer’s contact information to Shannon Beador’s then-14-year-old daughter Stella Beador, and all of her other offensive behaviors and hypocrisies, I just cannot be a card-carrying member of Team Braunwyn. She even hired a professional photographer to take photos of her during a Black Lives Matter protest, which comes across as incredibly self-serving.
Andy Cohen asked Gina about Braunwyn’s behavior during a recent Watch What Happens Live interview. Andy told her, “You and the other ladies erupted at Braunwyn [during the reunion] for making it seem like the rest of you don’t care about racial equality or gay rights. Did you people discuss this beforehand?”
Gina denied that she and her Real Housewives of Orange County co-stars discussed confronting Braunwyn before the reunion taping. After that, she criticized Braunwyn for her attempts at being an activist to gain social media attention.

The reformed hair extensions wearer explained, “It seems like Braunwyn’s way of wanting to be an activist is to just try and put everyone else down for any of their efforts.”
Instead, Gina wishes that Braunwyn would try “to bring people together or educate. When it comes down to it, Braunwyn is not buying what Braunwyn is selling. She concluded, “Like, to me, she’s not an activist.” And, once again, Gina is a voice of reason among the Orange County ladies.
