Captain Lee Rosbach Below Deck

Below Deck Star Captain Lee Rosbach Says Shane Coopersmith Needs To Get A Sense Of Humor And It Amazes Him That Shane Wastes His Potential

Am I the only one breaking out in hives every episode of Below Deck this season? Besides Eddie Lucas  and Francesca Rubi, everyone feels brand spanking new to the industry. Eddie has been on point so far. He’s trying to make up for a pretty awful reputation. Francesca seems genuinely concerned with her job, but also kind of stoned.

The rest of this rag tag crew needs an ass-whooping of Captain Lee Rosbach proportions. Lee has already commented on how vile deckhand James Hough is. Bless. More recently he’s commenting on sunny-side-up Shane Coopersmith. Grab your popcorn!

In his blogCaptain Lee decided to call Shane out for his stand off with Eddie in episode 3. This was the weirdest moment of self-assertion…maybe ever. Briefly, Sunshine Shane radioed to Eddie that it was raining….as it was raining. Eddie teased Shane for the late warning, and Shane decided he needed to stand up for his weather reporting right then and there. Eddie basically laughed and said Shane needed to get a sense of humor. It was about as awkward as that.

Lee picked his side and wrote, “Shane, Eddie is right, if you don’t have a sense of humor, you should probably not be with this crew because it’s not going to be easy on you if you don’t develop one. It seemed obvious to everyone but you that it was raining already when you announced to all that it looks like rain. I don’t know it was funny. Not malicious at all, just funny. We all have to learn how to laugh at ourselves sooner or later.” Womp there it is.

The call out didn’t end there. Captain Lee decided to give Shane a full dress down. He added,”That fiasco on the tender trying to get the lines to the big boat was a total disaster. And that stick you were looking for to grab the line is a boat hook and yes there should have been one on board and I’m sure there was, but if not then as 3rd deckhand it’s your job to make sure that there was one if needed.” Oop.

And the hits kept coming. Captain Lee offered some more words of  wisdom, “Here is another little bit of advice, when you’re told to be on deck at 0800, if you’re on time to me that’s late. Always be early, it will serve you well, speaks to character sir. And did I see…that you go down in the middle of the day for a nap. Hmmmmm. With so much potential, it amazes me that you want to waste it. I hope it isn’t so.” Ouch. But really.

Shane is so serious he can’t laugh at someone alerting a crew to rain in the rain, but also so chill he think’s he can help himself to a nap mid-shift? Fix it Jesus.

TELL US – WILL SHANE MAKE IT THROUGH THIS SEASON OF BELOW DECK? WAS EDDIE BEING RUDE OR FUNNY WHEN HE TEASED SHANE FOR ANNOUNCING THE RAIN? IS EDDIE HAVING COMEBACK THIS SEASON ON BELOW DECK?
