It’s official: Eva Marcille will not be a part of Real Housewives of Atlanta when the show returns for season 13. She came in hot gunning for NeNe Leakes during the reunion episodes, but it seems like that wasn’t enough to keep her peach.
However, she is “leaving” the show, which is what they ALL say. No one ever wants to admit it if she’s fired, so we will never know for sure, but Eva shared a lot of vague platitudes about her exit from the series.
People reported that Eva announced her exit on the Rickey Smiley Morning Show. She said, “I appreciate the bond of friendship that I’ve made with my castmates and strong personal relationships I have with numerous executives and producers of Bravo. I am thankful for the opportunity I was provided, however, after speaking with my family and representatives, I believe that what I hope to accomplish for the culture and community will be better served by focusing on other opportunities.” Good for her, but that’s just all sorts of vague and boring, much like her time on the show.
Eva shared, “I look forward to serving the community on Ricky Smiley Morning show and finding other ways to be a voice during this transformational time during our country for people of color.” Bravo didn’t comment on Eva’s announcement, but that’s not a shock. The network never admits to firing anyone. Instead, all of these former reality stars just wax poetic about moving onto “bigger opportunities.”

Eva reflected, “The time that I spent on Housewives I enjoyed myself. I cried, I laughed, I obviously fought. Most importantly, I made some great friendships with some beautiful women.”
She claimed, “I believe my time is up. I have a 6-year-old daughter and two young boys still in diapers. They are 24 hours a day and there is a lot of work to be done. I decided to spend my time and energy focusing on my kids and my community. And not so much reality show business.” She “decided”? Truthfully, that’s hard to believe, considering how much she put into that reunion performance after NeNe called her out for bringing nothing to the show.

Still, Eva kept things classy, declaring, “I love every single one of those black women. They are all queens all in their own right. They are stars and I wish them the most successful season and transformational season 13 that the Real Housewives of Atlanta has ever seen.”
Overall, it’s hard to imagine what Eva’s legacy will be. It’s hard to even think of some meme-worthy moments from her time on the show, but you never know how much her departure will affect the rest of the cast. Or better yet, will she be the only person to leave the show ahead of season 13? Or is she just the first?
