Well, the 8th season of Shahs of Sunset is surely to be dramatic. If it ever gets an air date. It seems like the cast has been experiencing many conflicts within the group, to the point of serving time in the slammer for Tommy Feight. Mercedes “MJ” Javid’s husband got himself into some hot water when he took some old fashioned Queens logic out on Reza Farahan’s patio. Unfortunately, a bat was involved. Tommy got himself a mug shot and 10 days behind bars for his efforts.
But here’s the deal, it has been widely reported Tommy was merely sticking up for MJ. Reza allegedly did her real dirty after the birth of her son, Shams. Apparently he shared some sensitive information about MJ on social media, and Tommy wasn’t cool with it. Since this show does not have a vast history of thoughtful conversations followed by peaceful resolutions, Tommy took a typical route with his anger. Fortunately for Reza, he doesn’t have to worry about MJ or Tommy for a long time. And they certainly won’t be filming together.
I’m not one to condone violence, but if Reza did indeed put MJ’s private medical situation on blast, he was asking for some kind of retaliation. The fact is, what Reza may have done wasn’t petty – it was inexcusably low. I’ll go on record by saying I rather like Tommy. He obviously loves his wife and accepts her for who she is. Which is no small task with MJ. Tommy assisted MJ in caregiving duties when her father was ill and hospitalized. He also managed to gain acceptance from Darth Vida, MJ’s extremely scary opinionated mother. That said, Tommy isn’t the only one currently experiencing issues with Reza. He’s just the only one going to jail for it. So far.
According to People, Reza doesn’t have to fret over Tommy any time soon. He has been granted a three-year restraining order against MJ’s husband. Tommy must now stay 100 yards away from Reza at all times. Most people wouldn’t find this a punishment… At the end of July, Tommy pleaded not guilty to charges of trespassing and vandalism. The charges stem after Tommy allegedly threatened to kill Reza at his home. Then Tommy proceeded to pretend Reza’s head was a potted plant because he trashed Reza’s patio.

In September, Tommy pleaded no contest to vandalism charges and the trespassing charges were dropped. He was sentenced to 10 days in jail and faces 3 years of probation. Knowing Tommy, he will somehow form a lifelong bond with his future cellmate. But don’t get it twisted, Reza is pretty much mad at everyone on the show. Mike Shouhed has made him mad over t-shirts, and Reza blessed him with some legal papers. Reza has also unfollowed most of the cast on social media. Forgive me, but I might already be tired of Reza’s enormous ego personality.
So what does this mean for the future of Shahs? Both Reza and MJ claim their friendship is beyond repair, but in all fairness, stranger things have happened. Maybe Reza needs to take a step back and look around him. Even though he can claim victory by receiving a 3-year restraining order against Tommy, it doesn’t look like most of the cast want to be within 100 yards of him anyway. Hopefully, Adam Neely is staying under the radar.
