Vanderpump Rules fans were grateful to Shep Rose for live documenting Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s wedding on social media. His live videos and photos were a gift for the fans. But what did he get the couple for a wedding gift?
What do you get for a couple with a heavily sponsored wedding who has everything? He could have given them caftans with photos of their dogs from Patricia Altschul’s line. Shep could have had Craig Conover sew a wedding edition pillow. Maybe Austen Kroll could have produced enough beer for a six pack. Eh, probably not. Even with all of those Southern Charm-themed options Shep went with nothing. He did not give them anything for their wedding.
In an interview with Bravo’s The Daily Dish, Shep declared, “I don’t get gifts for weddings. My gift is my presence.” Conceited much? For the record, Shep said this before the actual wedding. Maybe he changed his mind by the time he arrived in Kentucky.
Or maybe not. Shep continued, “I have never, ever, ever, ever gotten a gift for a wedding. What a stupid, stupid thing. I am spending literally a $1000 to come and see you — that’s enough.” Shep does actually make a valid point in regard to taking travel and lodging into account. However, “never, ever, ever” getting a wedding gift for anyone under any circumstance is just plain rude.’

But in all fairness, Jax and Brittany probably got a lot of free things for that wedding since they star on a popular reality TV show. It’s not like they’re hard up for cash. They’ll be just fine without a blender or serving tray. It’s just crazy that Shep has never given anyone a wedding gift ever. Maybe he wrote a heartfelt message in a card.
I would love to know what Patricia thinks about Shep’s tradition. He has to be breaking every southern etiquette rule in the book.
