Now that the Real Housewives of New York finale episode has aired, it’s time to gloss over the reunion and look ahead to casting for next season. Nothing is confirmed. Bravo is nowhere near making any decisions for Season 12. But, why not reflect on how to improve the group?
Ramona Singer, Luann de Lesseps, and Bethenny Frankel are the core three that were a part of the show during Season 1. They aren’t going anywhere. Nor should they. With the addition of Sonja Morgan in Season 3, it’s been the most solid and entertaining casting. Dorinda Medley was added in Season 7. The cast getaways to Blue Stone Manor have become an institution on the show. If Bravo has to make any replacements it should be either Tinsley Mortimer or Barbara Kavovit. Even Ramona, flitting out the door from each cast event, has been more involved in the drama than Tinsley or Barbara has
Yes, Ramona made it a habit to leave her castmates in favor of her “friends” or dates. Maybe that was played as a bargaining chip with producers, because it’s been rumored that Ramona is vying for a friend to be added to the show. According to Page Six, nothing has been confirmed, but sources suggest Ramona wants Sheila Rosenblum on the cast.
Sheila went from being a Ford model and ballerina to owning an elite stable. Apparently, Sheila wants her establishment, the Lady Sheila Stable, featured on the show. Sheila also won millions with her prize horses La Verdad and Hot City Girl. This top horse syndicate includes a familiar face. Jill Zarin is also a friend of Sheila’s.

If she does join the show, Sheila’s personal life will also be under scrutiny. She also came to own a significant fortune after her divorce from commodities trader Daniel Rosenblum. In the settlement, Sheila received and extra $11 million just because her ex-husband forgot to sign the divorce papers.
At the very least, Sheila joining the show may keep Ramona from coming late to events and then leaving early. There’s no recreating Ramona’s special brand of quirky. And Sheila would have something in common with Bethenny, whose father was a successful horse trainer.
