Love or hate her, you do have to admit that Ashley Darby went through a very difficult time last year. Not only did she have a miscarriage but her husband was accused of sexual assault and wanting to “suck a dick”. Now add Candiace Dillard’s constant questioning and judging… you have to feel for Ashley.
Ashley has shared her journey, which includes not drinking alcohol hoping that would help her become pregnant. However, the girl wants to have fun and needs to drink around these women so she has been downing the liquor. Some see a problem with this and the leader of the pack is Mrs. Brown Dick Candiace. Candiace believes Ashley drinking + Michael Darby wanting to suck a dick = Ashley not really wanting to have a baby. Now only if Candiace could calculate how to leave her mother’s clutches house!
And, since Candiace’s storyline wedding is done, she has been judging Ashley. Okay, I sort of understood what Candiace meant, you say you are not drinking then don’t drink. However it’s like me and my diet, I tell my friends every Sunday night I will be eating healthier starting Monday and then Thursday rolls around and I am eating Taco Bell. The difference is my friends don’t throw what I said in my face and judge me, they understand. Plus, you can get pregnant while drinking! Just ask 50% of parents (I bet more) and they will tell you they drank the night they conceived.
However, Candiace feels she is giving Ashley a taste of her medicine since Ashley loves to question and judge other people. But, Candiace should have chosen a better topic to attack Ashley on. Miscarriages and pregnancy difficulties are, unfortunately, common things many people struggle with. Ask Monique Samuels.
Monique is pregnant after suffering a miscarriage. To celebrate, she had a Rainbow Party, which is a party to celebrate being pregnant after losing a child. It’s a beautiful idea. It was also a beautiful idea for Monique to ask anyone at the party if they wanted to share their struggles.

Ashley wrote in her Bravo blog, “During the party, I saw Candiace looking at us and trying to pry her chipmunk cheeks into the intimate moment that my husband and I were sharing. We were not trying to attract anyone’s attention at the table, yet she could not keep her eyes to herself. It was rude and uncalled for, but I ignored her because the sentiment of that baby shower was of great significance.”
Yes, it was rude and uncalled to mock anyone telling such a personal and tragic thing. I bet this is the moment that many Candiace supporters jumped ship. Ashley continued, “Then, to see how she reported back to Gizelle [Bryant] about what she claims were false tears and emotions was lower than even the scum on her crusty toes. Candiace should have been focused on the man sitting next to her and the food on her plate rather than invading our privacy. Further proof of the nuisance rodent she is – it’s time to call pest control!”

That scene was pretty hard to watch. I don’t think anyone understands why Candiace has such a hate for Ashley when discussing her struggles with getting pregnant. We know Candiace thinks she is a fraud but it’s getting a little extreme now especially when your other costars disagree with you. We also know the situation is not going to get any better any time soon with the mid-season trailer out.
