Congratulations to former Summer House cast member Ashley Wirkus. Ashley and her husband Brad McAtee just welcomed their first child together!
And, of course, it was a family affair, with Ashley’s twin sister Lauren Wirkus present for the birth.
In an interview with People, Lauren shared that the baby’s name is Dean Hudson McAtee. Ashley gave birth to her son on Friday, May 24, at Scripps Encinitas Hospital in California.
Lauren told People, “He is pure perfection.”
She also shared some details about her sister’s labor experience. Lauren said, “It was a very emotional but incredible labor experience for Ashley as she not only had her husband Brad in the room but me, our sisters Rachel and Mia, and our mom Dana in the room during delivery!”
Lauren also remarked, “Before the doctor came in, she said she could hear us all coaching and pushing alongside Ashley. No surprise, our cheering was heard throughout the hospital once he arrived!”

Lauren shared, “Mommy and baby are healthy and already home. Words can’t describe the overwhelming love affair that has already begun!”
Ashley did not comment in that interview, but she did share photos from the article on her Instagram page. Ashley posted, “On Friday the most overwhelming love affair began when we welcomed our baby boy Dean Hudson McAtee. To say we are obsessed is an understatement. Thank you @people for sharing our exciting news.”
Ashley’s husband Brad told his followers, “5/24/19 My life changed forever. #deanhudsonmcatee We already love you more than you will ever know. @ashleynmcatee you are truly a super human and I am so excited for the next chapter in our journey together!”

Ashley and Brad aren’t the only McAtee family members who posted on Instagram. Baby Dean already has his own Instagram account, which is standard procedure these days, especially among reality TV offspring.
