The Real Housewives of Orange County are the OG’s of using their notoriety to sell products. Vicki Gunvalson has shilled wine in the past–and last year even promoted a trip to Puerto Vallarta with fans. Darn, I missed that! Tamra Judge uses every opportunity she can to promote her fitness business. Real for Real Cuisine is peddled by Shannon Beador–again and again. And former Orange County Housewife Heather Dubrow launched a successful skin care line.
Why should Gina Kirschenheiter be any different? But what to sell…what to promote? I guess with her recent DUI arrest, promoting wine like Vicki is out. Ditto for driving schools as she was also cited for talking on her cell phone while driving earlier this year. Makeup is always a possibility as Gina loves blue eye shadow–but would anyone hire her–and her heavy-handed makeup skills? Such a conundrum–just what could Long Island Gina sell or promote? For better or worse, we now have an answer.
In what might be one of the most interesting Housewife promotional efforts ever, Gina is hawking a product designed to treat erectile dysfunction, as seen in a YouTube video. Seriously. Not that there is anything wrong with that! But you have to wonder, out of all the products in the world to promote, how did Gina wind up with this one?
The product is called Giddy and it is a wearable device designed to promote–well–erections. Is the product called Giddy because you feel giddy when wearing it? Or after wearing it? I am not sure what the correct terminology is here. But video star Gina seems confident that Giddy is the greatest. Gina appears in the video with shirtless 75 year old actor Danny Trejo, Giddy CEO Erika Jensen and sex educator Shan Boodram.

An enthusiastic Gina, clad in a pink mini-dress–that looks like it was purchased in the lingerie section of Sears–touts the versatility of the product. She exclaims, “Giddy is available in a one pack, two pack and four pack. One for his place, one for her place and two because you just never know when you’ll need it.” It is comforting to know the four pack covers any and all erectile emergencies! Even at the local mall or a fast food drive through.
And you might be wondering, how do you get your…hands on a Giddy? In the video, sales girl of the month Gina, exclaims, “There’s no prescription necessary, no side effects and you can order it from the privacy of your own home.” Thank God! Who would want to have an 19 year old with purple hair checking you and your Giddy out at Walgreens? Or asking you intrusive questions about it? Like, “Are those napkin rings?”

Will you be satisfied with your Giddy? As it is designed with “bumps and ridges for her pleasure,” hopefully Giddy will be a sure-fire home run. But as the now clad in mom jeans Gina declares at the end of the video, “Giddy comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee.” Seems reasonable! I wouldn’t want to be the one working in the returns department, however!
Congratulations to Gina on her new venture. I am sure that it was a… hard gig to get and it might open up other…opportunities for her in the future. I can’t help but wonder though, what would Heather Dubrow think? She would probably say, “Oh dear!”
