Real Housewives of New York’s Bethenny Frankel’s life has been a crazy ride. Her contentious divorce from ex-husband Jason Hoppy was finalized in 2016. But the drama lives on as Bethenny and Jason battle over custody of their daughter, Bryn Hoppy. During the legal proceedings, we learned that Bethenny accused her ex of harassing her using Facetime. Sigh. Bethenny also dealt with some recent health scares, and nearly died because of her fish allergy.
The Skinnygirl mogul suffered the loss of her on-and-off boyfriend, Dennis Shields, in August of 2018. Dennis died of a suspected drug overdose. During Season 11 of RHONY, viewers have watched Bethenny grapple with her loss. Bethenny revealed to co-star Dorinda Medley that Dennis had proposed to her, and even gave a ring to Bryn. That is so sad! But Bethenny believes that Dennis is giving her signs from the afterlife that she should move on. Bethenny did just that, and her bestie Sonja Morgan couldn’t be happier for her!
Bethenny has been dating Boston-based real estate developer Paul Bernon, and he even saved Bethenny’s life during that life-threatening anaphylactic reaction. Who doesn’t love a man who is cool under pressure?
In an article from Radar Online, Sonja gave Paul the Morgan stamp of approval. “I think it’s great. She’s gone through such a hard time and for her to have someone that she cares for and wants to hold his hand and share her life with her daughter with, all the power to it.” Sonja is also impressed that Paul has a “great relationship” with Bethenny’s daughter.

Sonja reflected on Dennis’ unexpected death and how Bethenny dealt with it. “She was very close with Dennis and he had a great relationship with her daughter,” Sonya said. “I was really worried about Bethenny going into a really dark place when he died.”
Sonja is thrilled that Bethenny is finally putting her divorce, and Dennis’ tragic passing, in her rearview. The caburlesque enthusiast stated, “Bethenny has had to deal with her ex’s drama for way too long and it’s time. It’s past time.” That is so true. I feel like this custody battle will never end.
“She is finally going to be done with this for the most part and meeting Paul after everything that has happened to her really is full circle. She loses her best friend and now she’s met her soulmate,” Sonja said. Perhaps this time Bethenny has finally met the man of her dreams and can live happily ever after. Just kidding! Bethenny is on RHONY after all, so you know there will be drama.
