After watching an absolutely crazy season full of highs and lows, Married At First Sightdecision day is finally here! Get your snacks or cocktails and let’s discuss this episode. I’m not going to lie there are at least two couples that I hope they break up for their sanity and mine as well. This has been one of the craziest seasons since the inception of the show. We have watched everything from textbook manipulation, forced chemistry, and freakouts to awkward romantic moments. Get ready for some surprise decisions you didn’t see coming!
The experts speak with Stephanie Sersen and AJ Vollmoeller first, about their experience during the experiment. Of course, AJ tries to deflect from his grown man tantrums by saying that they both have been frustrated. Umm…I think we only saw Stephanie patiently deal with your constant Grinch-like behavior. AJ chooses to not eat dinner alone ever again and stay with his handler, Stephanie. Her decision is what I am waiting to hear. Please have the courage to run and never look back Steph!
Stephanie & AJ
Ughhhh… after a nonsensical rambling speech, Stephanie decides to stay with her bully husband. She even goes as far as to tell him that she loves him. OMG… please don’t do an interview in six months telling us he was abusive and you didn’t realize until the cameras left. We tried to warn you! Something is extremely off with AJ and his behavior. He can put it off on being an only child or the presence of cameras, but something is simmering beneath the surface. If you have no self-control on national television, I fear he will be way worse after the show.
Jasmine & Will
Next to face the experts are Jasmine McGriff and Will Guess. They are asked what the best thing about their marriage is. Will says that she has grown into one of his best friends. This does not sit well with Jasmine. I guess his statement equals no sex in her mind. Jasmine goes into judgment mode and details all of their issues, including chemistry, finances and future goals. SMH… How are you this old and not know that a man’s ego is fragile? You can’t berate someone you want to be in a serious relationship with you. After her verbal beat down, Jasmine says she wants to stay married and continue working on their relationship. Well, I guess Jasmine’s last attempt at communicating with Will isn’t good enough. He decides he wants a divorce… I think the only person who didn’t see that coming, is Jasmine. From him sleeping all the time to the excuses about sex, we all could see that he was only biding his time to make a getaway.
Kate & Luke
Now for the moment, we have ALL been waiting for Kate Sisk and Luke Cuccurullo are about to face the music. Kate arrives looking like a school mom on Easter to face off against public enemy number one her husband. They share a few lies details about the things they like about one another. Kate claims she has really gotten to see the “real” him this past week. He finds it “attractive” that she loves her family and hasn’t given up on him. The experts immediately call out the bs. Kate says he doesn’t show any real attraction for her. Dr. Jessica Griffin asks “If there is no attraction, why did you guys have sex?” That is the million dollar question. We all want to know.
Kate looks confused now that she has been reminded her marriage is a total farce. Luke awkwardly wants to skip over talking about them having sex. SMH… I’m sure he wanted to skip over doing it as well. Okay Kate, now is your time to take your power back and redeem yourself after weeks of abuse. She tells teen wolf- the older years Luke, that she thinks it’s best they go their separate ways. After smiling creepily and hemming and hawing, Luke agrees they should get a divorce. FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pastor Calvin Roberson says what everyone has been thinking all this time: Kate needs to find someone who truly wants her. Luke claims he is heartbroken. That is laughable, but okay. Are you heartbroken because you wanted to break up with her first? Or because now you have to find a new victim? I am just happy Kate finally put her desperation aside and had enough pride to walk away. I’m sure she had an emotional breakdown after she left the room, but at least she took a step in the right direction. Kate, if you are reading this… there is no shame in seeking therapy, I honestly think you can benefit from it. This experience with Luke made Kate go from looking like a bright-eyed and vibrant young lady to a haggard woman in a matter of a month. SMH…
Kristine & Keith
Last but not least, Kristine Killingsworth and Keith Dewar meet with the experts to talk about their marriage. They both have positive things to say about one another until they are asked if they are in love yet. Keith describes it as L.O.V. the “E” isn’t there yet. Pastor Calvin keeps it real and tells him that is the most ridiculous thing he has heard. What the heck does that even mean? Keith wants to stay married. He feels that if Kristine keeps pushing him he will be amazing one day. Okay… I don’t know if I would want to play mommy to get the best out of my man… but to each, his own. Kristine decides that she wants to stay married to her big couch potato. Keith also wants to stay married and even professes his love for her. Although, Keith isn’t exactly where he needs to be, at least he is willing to make an effort. This is more than I can say about some of the couples.
Well, I am disappointed that Stephanie decided to stay with AJ. I thought for sure, she wasn’t that desperate. Let’s just hope that without the extra stress of the cameras and the show, AJ will somehow morph into an adult rather than a toddler in his terrible twos. I don’t really believe that will happen, but it sounded good. I can’t wait until the couples tell all episode, next week. Luke is called out by Kate for possibly being gay. Wow….. Mark your calendars and get ready to sip some tea.
TELL US – WERE YOU SURPRISED BY ANY OF THE DECISIONS? WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT OF THE EPISODE? DO YOU THINK ANY OF THE COUPLES WILL REGRET THEIR DECISION? ARE YOU ROOTING FOR ANYONE TO RECONCILE AFTER THE SHOW?
