When Gina Kirschenheiter joined the Real Housewives of Orange County last season, she seemed like a typical new OC Housewife. Marital problems. Check. Larger than life personality. Check. An instant feud with Shannon Beador. Check. Gina even offered up a few new things to the show. A Long Island accent. A ridiculously long last name. And claiming to have the friendliest divorce in Housewife history.
But a secret was lurking just below the surface. Gina seems to have a blatant disregard for the law. Like most of us, she began the month of February as a law-abiding citizen. At least for a few hours. But by the end of the month, Gina had experienced multiple run-ins with the law, and was even branded a fugitive!
An arrest warrant was issued for Gina in Orange County Superior Court on February 28, according to The Blast. The warrant was issued after Gina failed to make her scheduled court appearance for her arraignment on her recent DUI charge.
What could Gina have been doing that was more important than showing up for a court date? Filming for the new season of Orange County? You know that Bravo would have loved to have gotten her court appearance on camera, so that can’t be it. Spending too much time applying blue eye shadow so she would look great in court? Did she just forget? It is difficult to imagine that anyone-even Gina-could forget such an important date.
How does something like this happen? Most of us wouldn’t dream of missing such an important obligation. Maybe Gina got a case of Housewife Celebrity Syndrome. Maybe she refuses to appear at any public events-even court dates-unless she is paid for them. At least with a gift bag full of expensive items.
And now, according to the official court record, Gina is even listed under the term “fugitive” for failing to appear. Certainly, nothing anyone would want to put on their Linked In profile! Oh Gina, how did everything go so wrong?

What a month it has been! Gina was arrested on February 1 on a DUI charge to start out the month. Then, less than a week later, she was cited for using her cell phone while driving. And now missing an important court date. February might be the shortest month, but Gina has certainly packed a lot into 28 days. I think we can safely say that Long Island Gina has set a new Housewife record for most legal violations in a single month!
On a more serious note, you would think that anyone going through a divorce would be more mindful of their behavior. Gina’s divorce and custody arrangement might be friendly now, but obeying the law is probably in her best interest.
Gina’s co-stars Tamra Judge, Vicki Gunvalson and Shannon seem to be able to whoop it up without legal consequences. Looking to her Orange County mentors might set her on the right path. I am sure they would be willing to offer Gina LOTS of helpful on-camera advice regarding appropriate behavior.

So, where does Gina go from here? Consulting with her attorney would probably be a good first step. Making sure that she puts reminders of important events in her cell phone calendar might also be helpful. And brushing up on the statutes of the State of California probably couldn’t hurt!
