There are a few Real Housewives that fly under the radar year after year, yet continue to have their contracts renewed. Like Cynthia Bailey from the Real Housewives of Atlanta. And Stephanie Hollman of the Real Housewives of Dallas. For the most part, these women are well-adjusted, good natured and don’t stir up a lot of trouble. I guess everyone can’t be a drama queen!
Tinsley Mortimer from the Real Housewives of New York also falls into that category. The most dramatic thing about her has been her on-again, off-again long distance relationship with Chicago resident and Coupon Cabin CEO Scott Kluth. Which, when I think about it, has been pretty dramatic at times.
Apparently, Tinsley and Scott have split once again. A source told US Weekly that the duo is no longer together. And that while Tinsley is back on the dating scene, she is “not locked down at the moment.” Tinsley has been nothing if not a lock down kind of lady since being cast on the show. She has made it very clear she wants to marry again and start a family. As in yesterday. Nothing wrong with that as long as both parties are in agreement. And hopefully, live in the same city.
Tinsley was introduced to Scott in Season 9 of RHONY. Former castmate Carole Radziwill thought the two would hit it off. And boy, was she right! Tinsley and Scott engaged in a full-on camera make out session on their first date. And they have been in and out of a relationship for the last few years. Sans on camera making out.
Now that Tinsley is back in the dating pool, the US Weekly source says that “The breakup with Scott was heartbreaking for her.” And that “All of Tinsley’s friends are trying to set her up with guys, but no one serious yet.” Maybe Tinsley’s castmates Ramona Singer or Sonja Morgan could set her up. Those women have game! And they seem to know every single man in New York City. Even ones who are not Harry Dubin!
Distance might be the culprit in Tinsley and Scott’s latest split. The US Weekly source said that “She’s so busy in NYC and he’s so busy in Chicago that they are not exclusive right now.” And added that “They’ve done this before, these little breaks.”

In many ways, Tinsley and Scott seem to be opposites. He is a down to earth Midwesterner who built Coupon Cabin from the ground up. And starred Tinsley in his commercials! She is a glamorous New York socialite who has chosen to live like a grown-up Eloise in a New York City hotel room instead of renting an apartment. And Tinsley has a somewhat checkered romantic history. An elopement and annulment at 18. And a remarriage to the same man a few years later. And more notoriously, an arrest in Palm Beach for trespassing at a former lover’s home.
Despite all of this, Tinsley and Scott have somehow made it work-at least off and on. Apparently, Scott does not scare off easily! If Tinsley’s romantic history didn’t phase him, nothing will. Scott even endured Tinsley’s shopping for wedding dresses before she had a proposal. And she once dramatically collapsed to the floor when Scott showed up for a surprise visit-as if she had not seen him for years!
Will these two crazy kids get back together? Who knows. They obviously have a strong connection. Kind of like that couple you went to high school with. The ones who would walk to class together holding hands and break up on the way. And get back together by the end of the school day.
