Real Housewife of Atlanta fans were once again treated to a boring girls’ trip when the ladies escaped to Destin, Florida. Most of the drama on this trip revolved around fashion. Oh and the speculation that Porsha Williams had a bun in the oven.
Marlo Hampton took it upon herself to give newbie Shamari DeVoe an early morning makeover. Shamari initially resisted Marlo’s aggressive fashion advice, she finally gave in and allowed Marlo to dress her in a bizarre outfit capped off with a gigantic hat. Marlo certainly didn’t do Shamari any favors with this ensemble.
Shamari later realized that Marlo, who is supposedly well-known for her fashion sense, was being super shady. Shamari, who is married to singer and “legend” Ronnie DeVoe (as Shamari reminds us every chance she gets) took to her Bravo blog to explain her issues with Marlo’s ambush-style makeover. “I think she probably thought she was doing a nice thing for me, but it’s insulting to forcefully engage someone into a “makeover” first thing in the morning. But I was put off at her approach and the fact that she basically was trying to make me a carbon copy of herself.” Oh, Marlo!
Later that night, Shamari and Marlo had a heated confrontation over dinner. Shamari told Marlo that she had gone to Tanya Sam, another RHOA newbie, for some real fashion advice. Shamari called Marlo a “bitch,” and then Marlo insulted Shamari’s mother. “Once Marlo started taking jabs at me, the gloves were off! I can go back and forth with the best of them, but a line that should never be crossed is bringing my mother into our argument!” Shamari posted in her blog.

But that wasn’t the only fashion-themed dust-up during the trip. NeNe Leakes took offense when Tanya, who unseated Marlo as the most fashionable during the talent show, mentioned how inexpensive sunglasses are from NeNe’s Swagg Boutique. An angry NeNe criticized Tanya for being obsessed with labels. Tanya was shocked by NeNe’s comments. Shamari, though, sees why NeNe was upset.
Shamari posted to her blog, “I understood where NeNe was coming from because of Tanya’s comment about the sunglasses that she purchased from her boutique. However, I do believe that Tanya loves all kinds of fashions and I do not think Tanya was aware of how she was coming off.”
