New York Housewife Sonja Morgan Is An Improv Comic Now

Is there anything that Real Housewives of New York star Sonja Morgan cannot do? She is a connoisseur of all things toaster oven, a “caburlesque” performer, life advisor for many, many interns, and a clothing designer with her own line. And now, she can add improv comic to her long, and varied, resume.

It is no secret to RHONY fans that Sonja loves to perform–whether it is a caburlesque performance (which is a bawdy blend of burlesque and cabaret), guest staring and having a wardrobe malfunction at Luann de Lesseps’ cabaret show “The Countess and Friends,” and now getting big laughs onstage. And that doesn’t include all her drunken nakedness on cast trips!

According to an article from Vulture, Sonja served as the celebrity guest host for Improv Asylum’s opening night in New York City on November 30. Sonja is my all-time favorite on Real Housewives of New York. We can all agree that the girl is quick to laugh, especially at herself. Comedy is an obvious fit for this Housewife and she has even won the Real Housewives Award for “Best Comedic Performance.”

A member of Improv Asylum called Sonja onstage, and asked Sonja how she was. Sonja quipped, “Commando.”Isn’t that pretty normal for Lady Morgan? She also copped to having four of the specialty “Sonja cocktails.” I am sure that is just quality control, right? Or not.  “I normally am banging the sh*t out of guys,” she told the audience when asked about her hobbies.

Sonya also participated in some improv skits with the comics, riffing off lines that were written by audience members. She even shouted, “Ramona Blue! Ramona Blue!” at an actress wearing a blue jumpsuit, in a shout-out to RHONY’s Dorinda Medley’s slurring “Jovani” while heckling at Luann’s cabaret show.

Sonja also had some famous faces in the audience: Real Housewives of New York stars Ramona Singer and Tinsley Mortimer. I wonder why Bethenny Frankel wasn’t there to support Sonja. But in the end, hats off to Sonja for putting herself out there, whether on RHONY or live onstage.

TELL US: ARE YOU SURPRISED THAT SONJA TRIED STAND-UP COMEDY? SHOULD MORE HOUSEWIVES HAVE BEEN THERE TO SUPPORT HER?
