This season of Real Housewives of Atlanta is off to a slow start. A very slow start. Pretty much nothing has happened, but that’s how it goes when they fire the dramatic cast members.
Now we are subjected to Eva Marcille and Shamari DeVoe desperately grasping for their peaches with thinly laid shade and events no one cares about. Porsha Williams’ life is moving forward at lightning speed. Of course, Kandi Burruss “knows of” her new man Dennis McKinley. She knows everyone in Atlanta, haven’t you heard? Kandi has some not-so-piping tea to spill on Dennis and his (alleged) romantic past/present.
During tonight’s Real Housewives of Atlanta episode, we will be subjected to Kandi talking about Dennis. Again. She wants to know if she should share the gossip she’s heard with Porsha. They are trying to patch up their friendship after Porsha spread rumors that Kandi wanted to date rape her, yet Kandi is the one walking on eggshells. Makes sense? Nevertheless, they are both on this show, so they have to hang out and/or talk shit about each other’s lives.
Eva’s mother visits to make her cry help with wedding planning. No one cares. We barely “know” Eva. She walked on in the middle of last season as a “Friend of the Housewives.” This season, she’s just trying way too hard to be shady. At this point, it’s just too soon to be invested in her wedding.
Speaking of things no one cares about, Shamari reveals more about her previously open relationship with her husband. But again, why does this matter? They are not currently in an open relationship, therefore, it’s irrelevant. Nonetheless, Shamari is determined to offer as many interesting soundbites as she can so she can secure her peach for next season. But will it work?

Also, Shamari holds a birthday party for her twins. There’s no way she was going to spend $900 on twin cakes and not televise this party. Why does a one-year-old child need a $450 cake, let alone two of them? Yes, I know she has two babies, but it’s still excessive.
Will the drama for Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 11 finally pick up? Let’s hope so! Either way, we know that the faithful fans will tune in no matter what, even if it’s just to hate on the show for going downhill. Real Housewives of Atlanta is on tonight on Bravo at 8 PM.
