Vanderpump Rules star Jax Taylor popped Brittany Cartwright in June. Soon enough the fans will get an inside look at the proposal when the show returns. Weirdly enough, some of Jax’s friends were surprised by the proposal (to put it mildly).
In a clip from the Season premiere episode, Jax springs his engagement plans on Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz while they’re picking up Brittany’s sparkling rock. Correct me if I am wrong, but shouldn’t buying a ring be a pretty big clue that Jax is about to propose?
According the clip shared by E! News, both Toms were stunned. In his confessional, Tom Sandoval states “Obviously Ariana [Madix] and I have been together for much longer than Jax and Brittany, but it’s not awkward that they’re getting married before us.” Really? Because that statement makes it seem pretty awkward. Tom Schwartz simply says, “Holy Sh*t! Say that again.” Again, why are they so shocked? They saw the ring.
Aside from his intent to propose, Jax revealed, he was able to buy Brittany such a large ring because he used the inheritance that his father left him. He told the Toms, “Every time I look at it, I can think of my dad, and that’s just another memory for me, so.” That is a really sweet sentiment. Has the infamous Jax Taylor truly changed his stripes?

In that same clip, Jax shares the post-proposal plan. He had the couple’s friends at their home to surprise Brittany.
I really hope that this was filmed for the show. Who am I kidding? Of course, it was filmed for the show. In the same post that he announced the engagement, Jax wrote, “make sure y’all tune in season 7 to see how this unfolded.”
