You know, I appreciate someone who follows the rules. In the case of Bravo’s Housewives franchise, it’s nice to see Denise Richards taking the title to heart. The latest addition to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills tied the knot on Saturday to fiancé Aaron Phypers in a small ceremony in Malibu. Denise has been filming with Kyle Richards, Lisa Rinna, and crew (and vacationing with the ladies in the Bahamas), and if a wedding isn’t enough of a story line, I don’t know what is…although there is no word yet as to whether the nuptials were filmed for the upcoming season.
The movie star, and former Mrs. Charlie Sheen, is just one of the already famous faces to populate the RHOBH cast. I guess in Beverly Hills, a reality show is a great retirement plan after a career in show business. Sure, Bravo housewives always end up being famous, but very rarely are they a household name before the show—with the exception of the Rodeo Drive ladies and Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kandi Burruss (and that one time with Kim Fields…).
Anyhoo, Denise confirmed the happy news to Bravo’s Daily Dish. She tells the site, “Yep, the rumors are true. This is my husband Aaron, and we just got married.”
She adds, “I am so happy to officially be married to the love of my life. I can’t wait for everyone to go on this incredible journey with me this season on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. It has been a wild ride so far!”
The couple began dating in December of 2017 after Aaron split from ex-wife Nicolette Sheridan (who was married to Harry Hamlin once upon a time!). Denise’s infamous ex-husband stopped guzzling tiger blood long enough to send his best regards to the mother of his children. Charlie Sheen issued a statement to Entertainment tonight wishing the newlyweds, “Nothing but happiness.”
Denise wore a dress created by Mark Zunino who shared photos on his Instagram (see them below). He captioned the shot: “24 hours to make a wedding dress? NO PROBLEM!! Congratulations to Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers! Thank you for letting us be a part of your special day!” After comments poured in regarding the gown, he defended his design, writing, “I don’t think we’ve ever had a wedding dress create more split opinions than the dress we just did for Denise Richards! Here’s our thought: we work for the bride/client. As long as they’re in love with the design, we feel we’ve done our job. Unless you’ve paid for it or are the one wearing it you don’t have to worry about it! We are thrilled that Denise felt beautiful on her special day and love how the dress 100% fit her personality and the setting. We look forward to working with any of you and creating the dress of your dreams no matter what anyone else thinks! XOXO.”
Congratulations to Denise and Aaron. May your wedding be our winter RHOBH entertainment!
