That last episode of Real Housewives of New York was just awkward to watch. It was clear that Dorinda Medley had a genuine interest in Bethenny Frankel’s disaster relief work. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t a good look when she drank to the point of slurring at dinner with Bethenny’s team. She was the only cast member that Bethenny included and the trip wasn’t off to a great start.
During other scenes in the episode, post-divorce Luann de Lesseps continued to move forward from her short-lived marriage with Tom D’Agostino. This show has been “about Tom” for years, so it might have been a relief for the spotlight to be on Dorinda during the episode.
Luann discussed her lunch with daughter Victoria de Lesseps in a Bravo blog post. She wrote, I’m so lucky that my children support me and do not judge! Victoria and Noel [de Lesseps] are now adults, living on their own, and I have very strong relationships with them both. They never really bonded with Tom, and as Victoria said, ‘He doesn’t know how to #hug.'” I would love to know what Victoria and Noel thought throughout the course of Luann and Tom’s relationship. I have a million questions for them.
Luann continued, “I’m glad I was able to talk to Victoria about what happened and how I have #noregrets. I went in quickly, and I got out quickly, and Victoria is absolutely right — there was no lasting damage. Tom and I are still friendly, and I accept him for who he is.” Does this mean that there’s a possibility that Tom will return to the show? God, I hope so.
Even though they’ve been both enemies and frienemies, Luann admitted, “I felt for Carole [Radziwill] when she shared with Dorinda that Adam [Kenworthy] had gone on a date with a woman he would like to see again.” Was she just not paying attention during that episode? Carole mentioned that when she was hanging with Tinsley Mortimer, not Dorinda. Nevertheless, Luann said, “It’s never easy to end a relationship with someone you love, but I know that if commitment is what Carole wants, she obviously has to move on.”
