Weirdly enough, the last Real Housewives of Orange County episode did not have an ounce of drama and it was actually very entertaining and compelling. Sorry to be lame, but I was actually very moved by the surprise birthday party and wedding vow renewal that David Beador planned for Shannon Beador.
Everything about it seemed very genuine and it was so nice to see how far these two have come as a couple and I was happy to have a break from the screaming matches we’ve become accustomed to at all of the social gatherings that have gone down during this season’s episodes. And I am sure that Shannon agrees with that sentiment.

Shannon was obviously happy to have an episode that didn’t center around Kelly Dodd-related drama and she wrote all about the special night in her latest Bravo blog entry.
Not only was the episode pleasant, but it was also very compelling to watch as an outsider, so I’m sure that Shannon is very moved by all of the surprises. Shannon wrote, “And now to the current episode…to the MOST AMAZING surprise that I have ever had in my life! I have watched the episode a few times now, and each time, I tear up even more. They are all happy tears! I never thought I could be this loved and this happy with my husband and family! Two years ago I would have told anyone they were crazy if they suggested that David would surprise me with a birthday party and vow renewal! It is all a testament to the love and work that we all have put into our family and our marriage! I am here to say IT CAN HAPPEN!!!”
At first I didn’t know what to make of Shannon and David making their marriage work and I wondered how much of their effort had to do with being on television. Now it is very clear how sincere they are and that they have really come a long way as a couple.
Shannon also wrote, “I can honestly say I have never seen David so flustered and nervous! And now I understand why! To plan such an extravagant event and keep it all secret was amazing! None of the guests knew that there was going to be a vow renewal, they all thought it was a surprise birthday party only! All of my best friends were there! And the fact that David took the time to carefully include all of the important people in my life is so touching!” It really was. If I’m keeping it real, I was actually near tears watching it. No, I did not actually cry, but it really was a beautiful episode. Make fun of me, but it really was a good one.
Not only did Shannon write in her Bravo blog, but Shannon also posted about the episode on Instagram. Shannon put up a picture of a heart and wrote a sweet caption: “Wow! I am overwhelmed with all of the incredibly warm and loving words about our vow renewal! Thank you to everyone who took the time to comment and say such kind things! I appreciate each and every one!!! ” I’m happy that she got some positive feedback for this one. I’m sure this season has been pretty rough for her to watch, let alone in response to social media comments.
