As Caitlyn Jenner finds her way in the world, she does so with the support of her famous family…for the most part. Her new show I Am Cait chronicles her struggles as she transitions from Bruce into Caitlyn, but it hasn’t always been easy for those closest to her to accept the change. While Catilyn’s ex-wife Kris Jenner and his Kardashian stepdaughters plaster on smiles when asked about the former Jenner patriarch, Khloe Kardashian admits that she and her sisters have wrestled with letting go of Bruce.
It’s not surprising that Khloe is having a difficult time “losing” Bruce, as she was always the closest to him of the Kardashian siblings. While Bruce’s biological children (Kylie, Kendall, and Brody to name a few) have rallied around Caitlyn, Kim and krew seem most koncerned with Cait making them look badly. Khloe recently opened up about the road to acceptance.

UsWeekly is reporting on an interview Khloe gave to Australia’s The Project while promoting the Kardashian Kids line she “creates” with her sisters. She admits that Bruce continues to be Bruce to her, Kourtney and Kim, explaining, “We don’t like to say that Bruce is gone, per se. We, my sisters and I, we will call Caitlyn ‘Bruce,’ and we’ve been told that’s completely fine,” adding, “She has told us we are allowed to call her any name we want to.”
Khloe continues, “[O]n the phone, when she calls me, it’s the same voice as Bruce. And if I’m not physically with her, it’s hard to remember in the moment that I’m talking to Caitlyn, if that makes sense.” On Sunday’s latest episode of I Am Cait, Caitlyn shares that her voice remaining the same is a big insecurity in her transition, citing, “Women cannot relate to the whole voice thing. They don’t see it as being that important when it is that important, not only for you to speak and order and do all that kind of stuff, but very important for your soul that you’re feeling good about that.”
Caitlyn openly spoke about how her Vanity Fair story upset Khloe and Kim who viewed it as badmouthing the Kardashians, and a preview of an upcoming episode shows Kim taking Cait to task, stating, “You look amazing, it’s your time — but you don’t have to bash us on your way up.”
Having coming to terms with her step-father’s decision, Khloe readily admits that Caitlyn has her full support…understandably, it just took her a while. She tells The Project, “There is a lot of raw emotions, that it’s hard to do in front of a camera. For us, we were trying to be really open and raw with it, I think. We all got through it and that’s completely over, it’s all behind us now. So, we are just happy for her. We just want her to be happy. But there was definitely a moment that was really tough for all of us.”
