Details On Kim Richards’ Rehab Stay; Plus, Kim Blames RHOBH For Relapse And Arrest?!

Kim Richards

Kim Richards quietly entered rehab over the weekend, just days after her arrest for public intoxication and her disastrous interview with Dr. Phil. The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star checked herself into a private, live-in facility in Malibu where she can still be close to family and friends, but get the treatment she needs.

Sources say Kim made the decision to go to rehab after discussing it with her family, but she’s still in denial about the severity of her addiction. “If the arrest hadn’t happened she wouldn’t be going to rehab; it would be business as usual. She’s in denial that she has a problem,” a source informs People

Kim also wants to save face with her children, and hopefully look good in court so she can avoid more serious legal issues. “Kim went to rehab finally because she got arrested, she humiliated her kids and she wants to avoid jail,” the source adds.

Another thing Kim reportedly is mortified over her interview with Dr. Phil. The previews feature Kim arguing with her children and fleeing the session – but even worse Kim blames RHOBH fans, the show, and twitter for her relapse! This from the woman who is very much in jeopardy of losing her job on Bravo!

In a new clip, Kim insists to Dr. Phil, “I have been sober,” but admits, “I haven’t been working a program.”

Which has been difficulty in conjunction with the demands of a reality show. “Living through this season on the show, sometimes it’s hard enough to get through it,” Kim tells Dr. Phil. “The fans are very hard on me, and I went on Twitter to see what people were saying and it was just horrible.”

Dr. Phil did not let Kim get away with the excuses and lectures her on her lack of coping skills and putting herself in unhealthy situations. “You’re an alcoholic who fell off the wagon and you pull into a bar? You’re drunk in a bar fighting with a cop — that is not good mothering,” he intones.

Three of Kim’s children, Brooke, Chad, and Kimberly will all participate in an on-camera intervention, facilitated by Dr. Phil, and Brooke describes Kim’s arrest as “the best thing that could have happened” since it may encourage her mother to finally get treatment. Meanwhile, Chad pans Kim’s participation in RHOBH in particularly her friendship with Brandi Glanville, calling her “toxic.”
