All of the Real Housewives of Orange County got to meet Lizzie Rovsek on Monday night's episode, and I don't think anyone was surprised at how she was welcomed into the group by Vicki Gunvalson, were they? There's nothing more attractive than a super catty, middle-aged loudmouth acting like the mean head cheerleader in an 80's romcom, is there? Of course, Vicki was just marking her territory as far as Tamra Judge is concerned, and something tells me (duh, the previews!) that Lizzie won't be too sad to cut ties with her new neighbor.
Admitting she doesn't have much to say in her Bravo blog, Lizzie begins, "I started writing this blog several different ways until I realized that I don't really have much to say or know what to say regarding this episode. Honestly, I didn't even know what to think after I watched it. I really didn't think Vicki would insult almost everything about me as she did. There are so many things to say and nothing to say at the same time," adding, "I don't pick people apart for the way they look or put down things that people have worked for in their life. Vicki says that it takes 'no skill' to be in a beauty pageant…Well, I tell you one thing it gives young women and that is confidence. And thank goodness I have some so I could handle the barrage of insults that came my way tonight."

After enduring a very tense limo ride on her first night out with the ladies, Lizzie explains, "I have worked hard for everything in my life. No one has to agree with anything that another does, but that certainly doesn't mean we should insult accomplishments in someone else's life. As women I think we need to support other women and not tear them down. Isn't there enough hate already in the world?" Women building each other up on a housewives franchise? Surely she watched the show before agreeing to appear on it, right?
Defending her pageant-y past, Lizzie writes, "I apologize for not having much to say about tonight's episode. I do want to explain, however, that the Miss Universe Organization, which is owned by Donald Trump (who also owns the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants), is a wonderful organization."
Lizzie continues, "The pageant opens so many doors for women and I met some of the most talented and driven young women while competing. I pulled this excerpt from the Miss Universe website and think it defines the women who compete perfectly: 'These women are savvy, goal-oriented and aware. The delegates who become part of the Miss Universe Organization display those characteristics in their everyday lives, both as individuals, who compete with hope of advancing their careers, personal and humanitarian goals, and as women who seek to improve the lives of others.'"
Summing up her blog, Lizzie does get one quick dig back at Vicki after her snide valedictorian comments. She concludes, "Vicki and I most certainly got off to a rocky start tonight, and all I can say is I am optimistic that things will get better. Oh, and there were exactly 139 students in my graduating class…I hope you are starting to realize that I don't have a problem standing up for myself, and I am not going to let anyone walk all over me. However, I do believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt as well as giving people a second chance."
You'd think that Vicki would get tired of the same ol' schtick. Oh, wait. Who am I kidding?
