Kate Gosselin appeared on Bethenny Frankel's talk show today. Bethenny asked Kate point blank how she spent her Jon & Kate Plus 8 earnings. Kate turned the conversation around – poor little divorced me – and said a few things about co-parenting that Bethenny really needs to apply to her own life.
First – the money! Where did it all go? Bethenny pointed out that Kate made a ton of money during Jon & Kate Plus 8's wildly successful run. Typical Kate hemmed and hawed a bit but ultimately agreed and said it was a blessing.
Bethenny continued, "You said publicly you kind of need to support your kids. You need money to support your kids. So I think people want to know where the money went, where the money is."
Kate answered, "The majority of what we made, I personally took and put into a college fund for the kids because they will go to college. So I use coupons and we don't wear top brands. Those things, to me, really aren't overly important, but college, school, and the house where they live is important.

Second – but everything is Jon's fault! Kate quickly (and expertly) changed the subject. She's a divorced and struggling mom of eight because Jon Gosselin changed overnight. The line to feel sorry for Kate forms to the right…
Kate said, "Divorce is divorce. When you're going through a divorce, of course you're looking back through the years to see in your own mind what happened. Those issues were always there. I feel like, honestly, the person that I married nearly overnight was not that person anymore."
Bethenny asked, "Do you still love him?" Kate said, "Someone once told me if you feel sadness, empathy, and pity for someone, the root of that is love."
Kate Insists She’s Changed, Explains Why She’s Suing Jon
Last – nasty divorce aside, Jon is still the father of Kate's eight kids. Kate's (albeit probably fake coming from her) take on co-parenting is great.
Kate shared, "I definitely want [my kids] to know that I did not hinder or stand in the way of their relationship with [Jon]. I do everything I can to foster that because it is important. You have to have the ability to remove judgment and ugliness from that."
"The best thing for my kids is that I give them that opportunity and that ability to continue that relationship," continued Kate. "When they are older, if they do not want to do it anymore or whatever decision they make, that's their business. Right now my job is to…"
Betheny interjected, "…foster that bond." Kate added, "Right."
Wow. Considering Bethenny's own bitter custody battle with Jason Hoppy, I hope she takes Kate's words to heart. Unlikely. But one can hope!
