Reality television isn't all housewives and hip-hop and Kardashian krazy (thank goodness for small favors!. There are some lesser followed, but equally entertaining reality shows that will be making their way back onto your guide channel after becoming hugely popular in their first seasons.
Both Breaking Amish and King Of The Nerds will be returning after stellar ratings. TLC will be renewing its hit which followed a group of Amish and Mennonite young people who were supposedly shunned by their ultra conservative religious communities as they navigated the mean streets of New York City. Likewise, TBS will be bringing back it's wildly popular King Of The Nerds reality competition.

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the very controversial TLC program will be bringing back its cast of Amish and Mennonite cast mates for a sophomore season. Rumors swirled around about how realistic the show was to begin with, what with secret marriages, Facebook profiles, and a baby that no one knew about, so it will be interesting to see the crew come back together for another round of culture shock. TLC garnered flack for choosing participants that were already far-removed from their religious communities and making it appear as if they'd never seen any modern conveniences.
Breaking Amish scored the network its highest rating freshman season ever, and it averaged 3.2 million viewers per episode. The eight episode second season is hoping for a premiere date in mid-May.
Rebecca, her new husband Abe, Jeremiah, Sabrina, and "Crazy" Kate will return for round two of drama, fights, surprises, and financial struggles…only this time they are leaving the Big Apple and heading south. That's right…look out, Florida, they are heading your way!
Also renewed for a second season, according to Deadline, is TBS' series King Of The Nerds. The reality competition pits self-proclaimed "nerds" against one another in a battle of wits, intelligence, and pop-culture knowledge, among other things. The competitors face different challenges in an effort to win the coveted title of King Of The Nerds. The first season premiered in January to more than 2 million total viewers, placing it in the same realm as that of The Big Bang Theory…except, of course, it's much cheaper for the network to produce the reality series than pay for the scripted comedy hit. It's a win-win!
