You know, ever since a little Dakota Fanning magnificently tackled playing a wise six-year-old in the very grown up movie I Am Sam, I knew she was going to have an amazing career…and she has. The actress has run the gamut by playing thought provoking and controversial roles throughout her tween and teen years while her Hollywood peers were partying hard and being typecast in every teen movie we've ever seen. Not only that, with a thriving and respected film career, Dakota managed to graduate high school (one she actually attended where she was a cheerleader and homecoming queen) and begin her studies at NYU. All the while, she's still picking roles that help hone her craft and catapult her into blockbuster status (thanks, Twilight!).
Proving that you can be a major star and not have your name in the tabloids every day (are you listening, LiLo?), Dakota has managed to stay under the radar regarding anything other than her career…until now. That's right. Dakota Fanning may be an award-winning actress, a serious college student, and an avoider of the negative limelight, but she's also an avid reality show watcher–and not just any reality show.

Ladies and gentlemen, in news that makes sweet Dakota even more awesome in my eyes, I've learned that she is a huge fan of Duck Dynasty. And seriously, who isn't? Mock Here Comes Honey Boo Boo all you want (while I don't agree, I TOTALLY see where you're coming from!), but Duck Dynasty is class act rednecks at their finest. They are educated, they run a multi-million dollar business, they put family first…and they eat squirrel. If you've never seen an episode, I encourage you to watch one and not get totally hooked. It's the perfect storm of humor, humility, and no drama. It's everything I love about Honey Boo Boo, minus the 'sketti and adding in intelligence and true family values (and ornery duck hunters). I digress (I do that a lot, don't I?), back to Dakota's love for all things Duck Commander.
According to USA Today (yes, a reputable source!), Dakota doesn't watch much television, but when she does, it's A&E's breakout hit. She says, "I am obsessed with [Duck Dynasty]. I was watching it and totally zoned out. I never laugh at TV even if it's funny. I never laugh out loud. This show, I was cracking up. I was dying laughing."
Not only does Dakota watch the Robertsons, she shares her love of the show with her best friend. Honestly, it's been hard for me to stomach that such a precious, grounded girl could be biffles with Kristen Stewart. I know the pair has starred in many movies together, but Dakota seems so focused and upbeat while Kristen seems so pouty and hateful. I must say that knowing they both watch Willie, Jase, and Si warms my heart. If Dakota can see the positive side of the always brooding wannabe vampire, then I can try to do the same. 🙂
Dakota shares, "I called Kristen and told her she had to watch this show. I think it's the best show ever. They make those duck calls. It's insane." In my mind, Kristen has the show DVRed, and when she watches it there's a tiny piece of her personality that comes out that she isn't able to share with the public. If that's the case, I'm okay with all the grunge and scowling we all get to see from Kristen. Of course, I'm being sarcastic…I love Bella Swan as much as the next Twihard Fanpire!
TELL US-CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT DAKOTA IS SUCH A HUGE DUCK DYNASTY FAN? ARE YOU ON THE ROBERTSON BANDWAGON YET?
