I'll admit, my fist pumping has turned into more of a fist wrist flick. Not only did the Jersey Shore end, it ended with a fizzle, not a grenade. It was time, and although I love my gross, orange, drunk, poorly dressed friends, that finale was just too tame. Don't get me wrong…I wasn't looking for alcohol infused antics, but these roommates have shown us time and again that they can entertain without being totally wasted. The pranks, rascal races, family dinners, and meatball auditions were hilarious. The series finale was not.

Apparently, I wasn't the only one who felt this way because the ratings were dismal for GTL proportions. The finale drew in 3.1 viewers which is a mere third of the audience that tuned in during the show's better days. While the finale's ratings were up a bit from the next to the last episode (clearly some people wanted to see how the show would end!), it was least watched finale show in Jersey Shore's history. In fact, the final season's premiere drew in 33% more viewership than the finale. That's sad. But again, it was time. The guidos and guidettes had run their course…and then some. That said, I'm still holding out hope that one day I'll get to have a cocktail with Vinny Guadagnino and Pauly Delvecchio. Hear that, Santa?
