Another Monday night, another episode where people have nothing better to do than meet for a) cocktails; b) lunch; c) breakfast; d) dinner; or e) all of the above. Are the VH1 producers actually asleep when they plan these episodes? Have they just totally given up completely? Oh well. Last night's Basketball Wives LA was more of the same, beginning with Wacky Jackie Christie's attempt at a make-up party.
Draya Michele and Malaysia Pargo are the first ladies to arrive for the soiree. Draya is a tad weirded out by the fact Jackie has framed pictures of the women all over the food table. It looks like a very fancy deli section at your local Harris Teeter. Take the stuff out of the plastic! It doesn't have to be served on a silver platter, but no one wants to see how much you spend on that egg salad! Laura Govan warily arrives second. Draya accuses Jackie of not trusting her to speak with Gloria Govan and calling Gloria herself. Gloria arrives with Brooke Bailey. Jackie shares that Draya is upset with her for calling Gloria, to which Gloria responds, if it weren't for Draya explaining the situation, she would have never come to Jackie's.

Brooke takes the opportunity to stir the pot by asking Draya about the photo shoot she left when she learned Brooke would also be shooting. Brooke explains to the other women what happened with the photo shoot. Draya says that she wanted a closed set, and Brooke had nothing to do with her leaving. Draya tries to share her side, and Jackie realizes she likes a feisty Brooke. However, there is still a lot about Brooke she doesn't know and needs to learn before she in integrated into the group. When she says this out loud, Gloria quickly reminds her that it is a new-and-improved Jackie who is new to the group. Jackie doesn't like this idea one bit because she is back to thinking she runs this ship.
Jackie gives a long speech where she tells each woman how much she loves each of the women. Jackie gives each lady a card that they read aloud. Jackie gets teary as she hears her words of love (good gracious!), but she doesn't think that she got the best possible responses from the recipients. She blames Draya for setting the tone of the party with her negativity. Maybe she should blame herself for writing really nice things in some cards and just a few words in others and then making the women read them aloud to compare.
Malaysia meets with a vocal coach to pursue a career with voice overs. She really wants to come out of her shell and try something new. I guess that was the one scene in the episode where people weren't just meeting for lunch. Meanwhile Brooke and Draya meet for lunch to discuss model-gate. As the girl who brought Brooke into the group, Draya doesn't think it looks good for them to be arguing out in the open. She has nothing against Brooke for being at the shoot, but she was promised a closed set. No biggie, right? The women decide that if they have any more issues, they will discuss them in private.
Jackie is doing a photo shoot and then conversating (when will someone tell her this isn't a word?) with a blogger. She wants to clear up some of the speculation surrounding her given her behavior last season. Laura arrives, and Jackie explains to her that she wants to sit down with everyone one-on-one. Jackie tells Laura she is starting to have issues with Draya and Malaysia. Laura tells Jackie how bored she is hearing these same gripes over and over. She now realizes that Jackie hasn't changed a bit…she's just a bit slower to get to show the crazy. It's coming though, that's for sure!
Malaysia and Gloria meet for–wait for it!–breakfast! Way to switch it up! The ladies walk to a jewelry store around the corner, and they are showcasing Malaysia's jewelry. Malaysia wants to make the basketball themed jewelry to be exclusive to women who are in their "lifestyle." I can't get one? Damn. The store owner wants to do a big publicity push for the line. Yea! Prepare for another fun party to be ruined by drama!
Brooke seems excited to have been invited to lunch by Jackie. Brooke thinks that Jackie is crazy, but she is happy to get on her good side. Brooke tells Jackie that she has heard some of the stories about her, and Jackie chalks up all of their meanness to jealousy. She is the Queen Bee. Brooke thinks that Jackie is overly sensitive about a lot. Jackie stirs the pot about the Brooke and Bambi situation. Jackie really likes Brooke….she smells another minion!
Draya is introducing Malaysia to her publicist to get some more press for Malaysia's jewelry line. Malaysia is so shy, but she really wants to get out of her box to promote herself. The publicist taps her to host a Lupus awareness fundraiser to get her name out in different circles. She's nervous but excited.
Bambi and Malaysia meet for lunch to discuss Bambi being introduced into the group. Malaysia really wants Bambi to meet Laura first, because she feels closest to her. Unfortunately, while Malaysia is way over her physical fight with Laura early last season, overprotective Bambi can't seem to forget about it. There's also the small matter of Bambi hating Brooke's guts. This should be fun! Malaysia arranges another lunch date for Bambi, Laura, and herself. Laura is impressed to learn that Bambi is a rapper. Bambi shares her reservations with Brooke. Laura and Bambi really seem to get along well.
Malaysia and Laura meet again to discuss the weirdness in Laura's relationship with Gloria. It appears the Sisters Govan have been on the outs for a while. Across town, another pair is meeting up for lunch. Jackie wants to talk through her tension with Draya. Jackie lays out her issues with Draya and calls her crazy. Jackie is totally insane, talking about the girls being jealous giggling little chickens while she's signed on for a movie deal. Jackie then starts in with a fake smile about how Draya better not go tell the girls what she's saying. She has totally switched the flip. Wisely, Draya gets her food to go while Jackie plots her revenge.
Next week, the vow renewal plans are underway, and the Sisters Govan have a heart-to-heart. Malaysia and Draya try to broker a peace treaty between Brooke and Bambi. Jackie goes after Draya, but Draya's got a lot of fight in her!
TELL US-WHAT DID YOU THINK OF LAST NIGHT'S EPISODE? AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS JACKIE IS HEADING BACK TO HER OLD WAYS?
