If you were hoping the Kardashians would fade into obscurity following a year of famewhore antics gone wrong, think again! They’re back and apparently as big as ever. According to the ratings, the Sunday night season premiere of Keeping Up With The Kardashians hauled in an impressive number of viewers.
Nearly 3 million (yes, I said million, not hundred) people tuned in to catch a glimpse of Kimmie Kake‘s butt, Khloe Kardashian‘s paternity drama, and a Kanye West sighting. I personally watch for Bruce Jenner‘s mutated face. I keep hoping and hoping to see some semblance of normalcy return to the rubber mask that has eclipsed his head.
Most shocking, the ratings for KUWTK are up 16% since last season’s premiere. And surprisingly the show did really well in the coveted 18-49 year-old-demographic, with 1.5M women making up the viewership last Sunday according to The Hollywood Reporter. I thought you people were boycotting?!

As a reward for all their hard work desperately seeking attention, here’s a photo of the latest Kardashian Kollection lingerie ad. Be warned – there is a serious abuse of Photoshop happening.
With so many shows airing on Sunday night’s 9-11pm time slot, I’m overwhelmed. I want to watch them all, dangit! My poor DVR gets quite a work out and I fully expect it to spontaneously combust any day now. Poor Tough Love always gets relegated to the record list – even though I love it.
Grabbing it’s fair share of viewers was the newly released Mrs. Eastwood & Company, which aired following KUWTK on E!. Nearly 1.1M viewers tuned into watch Overtone climb it’s way up the charts. Which are pretty respectable numbers for a new series premiere.
My Sunday night TV heart remains loyal to Jersey. Holding strong in the ratings race is Bravo’s Real Housewives of New Jersey. The never ending family feud (which is pretty much a metaphorical celebrity deathmatch at this point) is still attracting the eyes of many viewers. Last Sunday’s episode grabbed 2.3M watchers. That’s down from the season premiere, but still an awful lot of people are invested in the Teresa Giudice vs. The World storyline they’re running this season.
Unfair for all the Teresa lovers were her dueling reality shows. The live Celebrity Apprentice season finale also aired this Sunday and it grabbed some fairly disappointing ratings. Competing for attention with several shows – including the Billboard Music Awards – only 6.8M viewers tuned in to watch Arsenio Hall snag the title. Sure, those are big numbers, but fairly nominal for a network show.
Doing pretty well in the numbers race was TLC’s Sister Wives. Over 1.8 M viewers tuned in and it surprisingly beat the seriously outrageous Mob Wives reunion, which garnered a pretty paltry 1.1M viewers. I guess family feuds, marital dramas, and fake butts are all the rage these days.
So there you have it – that’s the Sunday night break down! BTW: Is anyone watching that Wilson Phillips show?
