Not only did Kim Kardashian capitalize on her 72-day sham wedding, but it appears she will also be capitalizing on the divorce!
According to a report by the Hollywood Reporter, days before officially filing for divorce from husband of two months, Kris Humphries, the two actually filmed their “breakup” for the E! network, to be aired on the upcoming season of Kourtney and Kim Take New York! Wowzers.
While E! refused to confirm the report, a source close to Kris tells the site that things got pretty bad between the newlyweds, to the point that the couple shot a scene for the finale in which they decided to “take a break” from each other. Who knew married folks could simply breakup?
In fact, E! is already promoting the end of Kimmie’s marriage by releasing a new trailer for the Kourtney and Kim Take New York series. The new promo begins with a narrator stating, “They may have the world at their feet, but things can change in a New York minute.” It then ends with Kim, 31, and Kris, 26, having a heated argument over their future together. That new promo clip is below.
Fast forward to this morning and Kim remains in major damage control mode as she is now telling TMZ, oops, we mean “sources” close to Kim are now telling TMZ she will not allow E! to film her divorce. Those “sources” state Kim will not be shooting any footage for Keeping Up with the Kardashians until the beginning of next year and is insisting she does not want to exploit the “real” moments behind the divorce on TV.
So a marital breakup is okay for E! to film but the actual divorce filing isn’t? Gotcha Kimmie!
In other news, amidst the backlash from both the public and the media (check out this week’s cover of PEOPLE magazine below), Kim continues to speak out both on and off the record in an attempt to defend herself against what most believe was a showmance of a marriage.
Off the record, Kim sources close to Kim tell TMZ that another reason she decided to pull the plug on her marriage was because Kris’ family hated her. According to TMZ, Kim is telling friends that Kris’ claims that his family loved her is total B.S. adding that they had nothing but disdain for her and her family and never wanted their son to marry.
Kimmie is reportedly telling others: “It’s ridiculous that Kris’ family is making Kris look like the victim.” Kim told the sources that Kris’ family constantly “belittled” her, were “nasty” to her family and a lot of this was reportedly captured on camera. Kim is now claiming Kris’ family is partially to blame for the breakup. Ah, it seems just like a few days ago Kim was claiming she filed for divorce because Kris was becoming a famewhore! Spin, spin, spin… until something sticks!
TMZ is also reporting that Kim and Kris fought a lot during the negotiating of their prenup this summer. In the end, Kim got her way as the couple’s assets stayed separate and Kris only “got a limited cut of the wedding money”, estimated at being over $17 million.
Meanwhile, Kim appeared on Australia’s Sunrise morning show via E!, her first TV interview since filing for divorce on Monday, and talked about the backlash she has been receiving while also claiming she plans to take some time away from the spotlight. Riiiight.
“It’s kind of what you get from living your life so publicly on a reality show,” Kim said of the negative feedback. “I get that questions are going to be asked and the scrutiny’s going to come, and there’ll be mixed emotions and so many rumors,” she continued with sister Khloe Kardashian by her side. “That comes along with the territory, but also, it teaches me I kind of want to step back a little bit.”
Kim was then asked if she ever considered taking some time off away from the public, Kim replied: “Of course, I do want that time to be with myself and close friends and family. I don’t think you ever prepare yourself for when the right time is, so I will get that time somewhere in the near future.” Fingers crossed!
As for the status of Kim and Kris’ relationship today, TMZ adds they have NOT communicated since the divorce filing on Monday despite reports that claim they’ve been talking.
The couple reportedly made a mutual decision not to communicate, at least for the time being. Even better for the two, they don’t have to worry about retrieving items from each other as TMZ states “neither Kim nor Kris ever officially moved into the other’s home” therefore making this a clean split. How convenient. Kris Jenner also confirms to TMZ that she hasn’t spoken to Kris since the divorce filing.
Finally, below is this week’s PEOPLE magazine cover which questions whether or not Kim’s marriage was simply a publicity stunt. Just as we predicted earlier this week, the media backlash has began. PEOPLE’s cover is all the more surprising as they were the ones who reportedly paid Kimmie millions for her wedding photos, and they are arguably the most reputable weekly magazine out there. To sum this up: When PEOPLE magazine starts to turn on ya, the end of your “career” is near…

TELL US – THOUGHTS ON THE LATEST? TACKY TO FILM THE BREAKUP FOR E!? DO YOU BELIEVE KIM WILL TAKE SOME TIME OFF DUE TO THE BACKLASH?
The latest PEOPLE cover is an example of the media backlash against Kim. Notice how they used the exact same photo they used for her wedding cover issue?
