Popular and well liked returning Big Brother houseguest Jeff Schroeder finds himself in hot water today over some anti-gay comments he made on the show’s live feeds.
During a discussion with fellow HG Kalia this week, the topic turned to Harry Potter books and its writer J.K. Rowling‘s past statement that Dumbledore was a gay character.
Jeff appeared taken aback by the revelation stating, “He’s in a school with little kids, you can’t make that guy gay!” He then added, “It isn’t right to have it in a little kids book, and have the head master locked away in this magical land, be gay. That isn’t the right kind of writing to do.”
Kalia’s response was, “Why? Gay men can’t work with little kids!?” adding, “Just because he is gay, doesn’t mean there is a thing wrong with him.” Jeff replied, “You know exactly what I’m saying. Don’t make it seem like you’re doing the right thing by saying that it’s not.”
As for CBS, they responded with the statement below –
“Big Brother is a reality show about watching a group of people who have no privacy 24/7 — and seeing every moment of their lives. At times, the Houseguests make comments, reveal prejudices and other beliefs that we do not condone. Any views or opinions expressed in personal commentary by a Houseguest appearing on BIG BROTHER, either on any live feed from the House or the broadcast, are those of the individual(s) speaking and do not represent the views or opinions of CBS or the producers of the program.”
Some are calling Jeff homophobic while some of his defenders are stating he isn’t citing he developed a friendship with the openly gay Kevin Campbell during his 2009 stint on Big Brother. It will be interesting to see if CBS will show Jeff’s comments on the televised airing. Houseguest Cassi also received some flack last week after she jokingly referred to Dominic as a ‘fa**ot’ on the live feeds.
A new episode of Big Brother is set to air tonight on CBS during which the first houseguest of season 13 will be evicted. Up on the chopping block are Porsche and Keith. On last night’s episode, Keith was overly cocky and planned to throw the Veto competition because he believes he has enough votes to stay. Keith is assuming all of the new HGs will vote for him. Wowzers.
Rachel won the veto and left the nominations the same. So far, it appears the plan of the returning HGs is to keep Porsche in the house and vote out Keith. But do they have enough votes to do so? We will find out tonight on CBS at 9/8c.
TELL US – DO YOU THINK JEFF IS HOMOPHOBIC? THOUGHTS ON HIS COMMENTS & TONIGHT’S EPISODE?
