Report: Kate Gosselin Acting Like ‘Major Celebrity’ On DWTS

Another week, another negative story about Kate Gosselin in the press.

The latest is the cover of UsWeekly magazine which paints the Dancing With The Stars contestant as being a major diva. According to US, Kate is so standoffish on DWTS, that she now has show staffers contact her through her bodyguard, Steve Neild.

“When the show needs to contact Kate, they go through Steve,” says a production source who also reveals that having personal security is not the norm for any of the other star competitors. “She acts like a major celebrity. It’s a joke with the cast, like, ‘Oh, look out — the bodyguard is watching!'”

Professional dancer Derek Hough however comes to Kate’s defense saying, “If anyone is allowed to be stressed, it’s Kate.  She is so out of her element. She can act any way she wants, in my book.”

DWTS judge Bruno Tonioli also appeared on George Lopez’s talk show this week and pretty much slammed Kate’s dancing skills, calling it crap.  “Kate is pretty dreadful. She’s crap. But in a nice way.  She is entertaining,” said Bruno.

As for why viewers continue to vote for Kate, Bruno has his own theory:  “People like disaster movies. We’ve got our own disaster movie there everyday.  2012 is nothing compared to the catastrophe she produces. She is a tough cookie.  She gets it in the face, she comes back and she tries to get better. It doesn’t really work.” Ouch.
